What is the GPT project?
Global Process Transformation (GPT) is our internal project name for globalising and standardising the way we do business as a company. Our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system – SAP – provides the foundation for our transformation, but GPT is much more than SAP. GPT is about how we get work done.
It’s about process improvement, standardisation and creating end-to-end processes on a global basis to better serve our customers.
When will it happen?
Global Process Transformation is a multi-year project which will roll out our new business system and aligning processes globally. The majority of the functionality has been implemented in North America and we are now preparing the EMEA organisation. The planned go-live date is 6th February 2012 for EMEA.
Will there be any disruption to the business?
The North American system implementation was a success and although this project has been planned in equal detail, large-scale projects of this kind cannot be implemented without an element of risk. As a result, we have taken every precaution possible to minimise any potential disruption. A hypercare support team will be available during and post go-live to deal with any issues or business disruptions.
What actions do I need to take?
In general, we do not anticipate that you will be required to take any action, however their maybe some specific cases. If further action is required, your local Sales Representative and/or Customer Care agent will contact you at the appropriate time.
Will this implementation mean a delay in delivery of products?
The majority of our manufacturing is already on SAP, however, we have put a risk mitigation plan in place to minimise business disruption.
Will the lead times of my products change?
No, infact the global deployment of the new system and processes will create opportunities to improve the delivery performance for the future.
