Ethernet/IP Capacity Tool

The EtherNet/IP Capacity Tool (formerly called the EtherNet/IP Performance Prediction Tool) is intended to help you in the initial layout of your EtherNet/IP network and motion system by calculating resources (Connections, Packets Per Second) used by a proposed network.

You choose icons to indicate the type and number of nodes on the network, along with associated parameters such as Update Rate desired. The tool then calculates the resources used and what's still available. This format makes it easy to try different configurations/parameters and see how the outcome is affected. A new version is now available that calculates resource usage of Safety nodes, provides enhanced support for HMI nodes, adds support for the CompactLogix L23E, and other enhancements. To keep the Ethernet Performance Prediction Tool up-to-date this download includes and installs software called Current. This software continuously checks the internet for updates to the tool.

Faceplates/AOI

Adding a device like a PowerFlex drive, into a Logix controller project has always provided ready-to-use tags. Now Faceplate/AOI sets make use of these tags with code for your controller and graphics for your HMI. Simply download a Faceplate/AOI set from the library, then install and configure it for your application using the straightforward instructions included in the download. By implementing these pre-programmed, pre-tested Faceplate/AOI sets for devices such as drives, networks, and I/O modules, the user can configure, commission and operate devices without the need to write a single line of code. The faceplates also include many diagnostic functions to assist the maintenance and troubleshooting of your system. Faceplate/AOI sets bring the power of the Integrated Architecture to your system quickly and easily.

SolidWorks

Machinery manufacturers face relentless demands from customers and the market to create systems that are cheaper, more reliable, and more productive. To answer these challenges, Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks and Rockwell Automation have developed a prototyping solution that dramatically shortens the gap between idea and reality - mechatronics.

This addresses the key desires of machine builders, including the need for greater innovation, more optimised performance, faster time to market and reduced business risk. A mechatronics design approach helps build more flexible, and therefore more sustainable machinery. With Motion Analyzer software, you can identify potential improvements early in the machine design stage, thereby extending the lifetime of the machine.

VMWare

Virtualisation is a software technology that allocates servers and other hardware resources when and where they are needed. This enables companies to run multiple Rockwell Automation software applications on a single server.

Through virtualisation, a thin layer of software called a “hypervisor” is inserted directly on the computer hardware or on a host operating system. Multiple operating systems run concurrently in isolated virtual machines on a single physical computer and share hardware resources with each other.

Virtual machines can be run on any virtualisation-enabled physical server, creating a pool of computer resources that helps ensure the end user’s highest-priority applications will always have the resources they need.

Support of VMware-ready software is designed to help manufacturers reduce energy use, floor space and capital expenditure.
